Link4Skills workshops are run by Link4Growth / Link4Business members to share information with others in the local community.
What will be covered in this workshop?
Attendees will be guided through the Canva layout and learn the potential of Canva and how they may use it easily at zero cost.
Each attendee will create their own unique image in their own Canva account and learn how to build on the skills learned during the workshop.
Technical know how and branding consistency will be covered as well as ideas, suggestions and strategy.
This interactive and practical training is limited to just 8 places so that help can be given as needed.
Who should attend this workshop?
This workshop will be particularly helpful for small business owners and those working with not for profit organisations, charities, local clubs or groups.
It should prove helpful for anyone managing social media accounts to provide bespoke eye catching images to raise visibility.
Or, you may just want to pick up a new skill and let your digital creative juices flow!

Attendees will come away from this training with an understanding of what can be done for free within Canva and have a good foundation in which to explore further in their own time.

Little Bird Hair Design has finally opened its doors here at Workspace House and has already been busy. An established and recognised stylist, owner Jill Hendry, decided the time was right to go it alone and open her unisex, appointment-based stylist and barber business.
Being based in Workspace House gives Jill the access and flexibility she needs for her fledgling business whilst ensuring she has the infrastructure she needs and all at a low cost. Minimal costs and a simple rolling monthly contract mean that when the time is ready for Jill to move on to bigger and better premises she can do so without having to worry about exit fees that may hamper her business.
Little Bird offer a comprehensive service from beard trimming, gents cuts, highlights, Balayage bespoke techniques and much more! Bridal hair appointments are a speciality and Jill recommends these are booked and planned well in advance.

Deciding to move your business off the kitchen table or out of the spare room is a big challenge for any business owner. Our first new tenant is a craft kit business. CoolKatzCraft create, design and offer 3D project kits with a "From Start to Finish" range, and album design kits with a "From Cover to Cover" range.
The business uses local TV channel Hochanda as their main marketing channel and they regularly feature on the channel on hour-long sessions showing their kits, how to assemble them as well as insights into other products and plans for CoolKatz.
Although a relatively new business, the owners (Maggie & Kay) have ambitious plans to grow and are already adding shipping to overseas countries and are building a growing audience from the online presence, YouTube channel and more. Opting for Workspace enables CoolKatz to have the space they need to grow as well as a fully serviced space including a staffed reception that handles deliveries whilst they are away from the office.

Our newest tenant is run by Donna Parnell, who made the decision to start her business after more than 15 years working for other people. Less than a year old, the fledgling business has grown quickly and the need to move away from a home office to serviced office became necessary.

This new business, primarily specialising in branded mugs and clothing, needed a serviced office/workspace that gave them enough room to grow without being so large that the cost was prohibitive. Started in 2014 by owner Natalie Rose, Rose Beauty was started with the aim of giving their clients the most relaxing & luxurious experience they could. At present Rose Beauty offer lash, brow, skincare, makeup and nail treatments but Natalie is constantly looking and researching for additional products and services that can bring added value to her business and enhance the customer experience.
Natalie, decided to move into Workspace House as our value driven offer meant she was able to secure a large serviced workspace - significantly larger than her previous space - that gave her the space she needs now but also space to expand as she grows the business.
An appointment based business also means that Natalie did not have to locate her business in a high footfall area, which often attract higher costs but also restrictions on use. Very Craftea, specialise in socially responsible loose leaf tea and craft kits created by Tasnime Jennings. Originally operating from residential premises Very Craftea has been searching for a unique commercial space that was small in size and this proved more of challenge that first thought. The answer, following a number of discussions, was to create a micro office and workspace here at Workspace House!
What makes Very Craftea stand out is that the business is more than just selling, and aims to help its suppliers. For example, for the tea they use, they decided to work with a single supplier who, to quote Tasnime, " ... give 50% of their profits to address the issue of educational development in and around the under-served tea growing region of Darjeeling, so the more tea I sell, the more money can go towards projects to help. This money goes direct to the people it affects, not to a big corporation."
The craft kits also have a collaborative approach. The kits are complete kits (apparently something that is not always the case for the majority of craft kits) that are sourced from women who run their own businesses here in the UK, giving them support and awareness. The business is looking to expand the craft range and Very Craftea are always looking to source new suppliers.
